German automaker Audi has apparently declared 2010 its green year. Recent news of how Audi goes green with both solar and electric cars is a breath of fresh, renewable-energy air!
A huge solar panel array has been installed at Audi’s primary factory in Ingolstadt, Germany. From there, the company has plans to add 14,000 megawatts of wind power, as well.
Some commentators believe that Audi’s new green measures have been spurred by its decision to finally start producing electric cars.

Regardless of the motivation to go green, Audi has clearly turned the corner to renewable energy avenue. The company has also joined forces with Desertec Industrial Initiative to in a clean energy effort in the Middle East and North Africa. Infrastructure and renewable energy resources, including solar and wind energy, soon will be underway in these regions.
