Hi Paul - that sounds frustrating, for sure. There are a lot of studies/articles that say homes with solar power sell faster and for more money. One U.S. Govt. figure (I think from HUD) says for every dollar you save in electricity bills, the value of your home increases by $20. If you save $500 a year, that's worth $10,000 right there. :) Good luck - Stephanie

May 6, 2011, Friday. I was just quoted $44,000 for a 5kw Ready Solar installation. Not what I expected after getting quotes on websites for $25,000. Yes, I know there's a lot to be desired in what these websites take into account when quoting and Ready Solar has a really unique product. I was blown away with the simplicity of it. But, right now even with the 30% government rebate of the net system cost, I just do not want to plunk down the $10,000 down payment and finance the rest. It's long term and my wife says we might move and there is no money in improvements when selling. It's a toss up. You never know if you're going to move or not. I like things long term so it's a waiting game to try to get the wife to agree to this I guess. In the meantime we're losing on a sure fire, long term investment. Maybe later.
