What if you could get all the information you needed to install solar panels, simply with the click of a mouse? Well, in most areas of the U.S., you can!
Solar Power Authority has joined together with Cooler Planet to create a solar calculator for residential and commercial PV solar panel systems. Using the computerized form, you’ll be able to estimate overall cost of the panels, monthly energy savings and the payback time period for your property.
In addition to calculating the cost of solar panels for your property, you’ll also be able to find local solar installers and get free quotes for solar arrays. Information you’ll need:
- Zip code (where the property is located)
- Average monthly electricity cost
- A copy of the most recent electricity bill
- Local utility provider’s name, address, contact number
With just these factors, the Solar Power Authority cost calculator considers the amount of solar radiance in your property’s location based on latitude and weather patterns, the size of solar array you will need to produce enough electricity to meet your needs (also considering solar radiance of your area), estimated cost of a solar panel system, including installation and taking into account solar rebates and incentives applicable in your area, and the point at which you will break even for your investment, taking cost and savings into consideration.
The solar panel cost calculator will even give you an estimate of your CO2 savings and help you determine net metering options, as well.
