Sainsbury's Supermarket will carry solar panels for sale
You know that renewable energy is going mainstream when you can pick up a gallon of milk AND solar panels from the supermarket! For people that live in the U.K., just head down to the local Sainsbury for a DIY solar panel kit. The grocery store has partnered with British Gas to offer solar panels for sale right down the aisle from light bulbs and laundry detergent!
Sainsbury’s stores are adding solar panels to their inventory as part of the new Sainsbury’s Energy program, which includes other ways to “go green” at home, such as insulation, gas and electricity deals, home energy assessments, and advice from”energy experts.” Sainsbury CEO, Justin King, stated:
“Our ambition is for Sainsbury’s Energy to become the number one destination for customers looking for new energy technologies, energy efficiency measures and great energy deals, so we can help them to reduce costs, while also reducing carbon emissions.”
Sainsbury’s might just be the start of more retail outlets carrying items like these. We hope that, before long, solar panels from the supermarket will not even be noteworthy!
