If you are reading this blog (you are, aren’t you?), you are probably thinking about the many benefits solar power can have for you – both personally and globally.  But perhaps you are still on the fence when it comes to the decision to go solar.

2. Government incentives are available for homeowners and businesses.  Solar installations cost much less when you get a tax break, or even a low-interest loan for going green.  Energy Star programs pay you back for investing in the environment.

On top of your tax breaks, your home or building will be increased in value by as much as 10% right off the bat, when you go solar.  But, even better, your property taxes will not increase as a result. Many potential homebuyers are specifically searching for residences that will have lower utility bills.  Your place may look a lot more tempting than your neighbors when it comes time to sell.

4.  If you decide to go solar, you can pat yourself on the back for cutting back consumption of fossil fuels that are not only limited in supply, but contribute to global warming when they are burned.  Yes, I am talking about coal, which is currently supplying up to 85% of the electricity used in the United States.  When coal is burned it results in atmospheric-choking greenhouse gases that trap heat.  Seen any footage of melting ice caps recently?
