Google Solar Investment in Germany

Internet Search Engine giant, Google, has been adding to its energy investments recently.  This week, it talked about its recent investment of $5 million in a solar energy park in Germany.

The new solar power facility is near Berlin on 116 acres.  At peak capacity, the Google solar power plant can generate 18.65 megawatts (MWp), among the largest in Germany.

Press releases have indicated that Google’s new solar facility will be able to provide clean energy to more than 5,000 homes in the Brandenburg region.  Google joined with the German private equity company Capital Stage for the project.  The company has strong experience in the German PV (photovoltaic) energy market.

Google has chosen a smart place to invest dollars in solar energy.  Germany is one of the world’s leading countries when it comes to the renewable resource.
