First, there were solar-powered movies, and now there is a green cinema in which to watch your favorite flicks! The Sol Cinema is the world’s smallest solar-powered movie theater that has an even more minuscule carbon footprint. In fact, the facility is 100% solar powered by two 120W solar panels.
Shown above, the Sol Cinema has room for eight adults or twelve children, and probably some popcorn as well. Owned and operated by the media arts charity Undercurrents, the world’s smallest solar powered movie theater is housed in a converted 1960s caravan.
According to Sol Cinema’s website:
The Sol Cinema has been lavished with pride and style. We use an LED projector showing short movies in cinematic surroundings.
We use state of the art lithium batteries to store the energy from the Sun to power the cinema all day and night. Our photovoltaic panels harness the sunlight, even as the films are being shown so we never run out of power.

Just the right example that the possibilities are huge for commercial solar energy.
