Solar Golf Carts

Solar Golf Carts

I’m on a solar energy recreation kick.  From solar bikes to solar golf carts, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the sun…. regardless of the temperature outside.  What I love about solar golf carts is that you can save energy walking the links, and not have to worry about CO2 emissions, when your legs get too tired.

There are a number of sites at which you can purchase a variety of solar golf carts.  My favorites include Cruise, Car, Inc. and Suncatcher.

At about $3500 for a solar golf cart, some may think that its too expensive.  However, you can lease a solar golf cart for about $15-20 a month.  You don’t even need to buy an entirely new golf cart.  Just replace the canopy with a solar panel-fitted one.  Peel and stick solar panels are the new best thing:

Even if you are not hitting the links, some sites are promoting solar golf carts for the streets.  Traveling at speeds up to 25 mph, they are street-safe on many roads within city limits.  These vehicles are a great alternative to fossil-fuel powered cars and trucks, regardless of the price of gasoline.  They can travel up to 3 hours on a single charge – which is great, considering their proposed use.

These days, its all about renewable energy.  In fact, recent legislation will make it even more cost-affordable to purchase a solar golf cart, or any number of other alternative energy investments.  Check into EnergyStar.gov for more information.

Bottom line:  if you are recreating outside, you’d better be solar powered.  Why spend time under the sun, if you are going to ignore its vast potential for energizing our lives?

Next time you go golfing, be sure that your course includes solar golf carts.  If not, why not encourage them to invest a bit in their future… as well as that of the planet’s?

  1. Hi, I like this website because it is so easy to find information I want, it provides the best information, is not too long or short, and has a lot of personality in it! I hope you can expand and write about compost, rain barrels… etc
