Solar cells embedded in the netbook computer's cover help charge the battery
Calling all geeks, environmentally-conscious people, or just those looking for a convenient way to extend the life of their computer battery. Samsung will soon release for sale solar power netbook computers. Initial markets for the solar gadget include the United States, areas in Africa and Russia.
Keep your computer battery charged with solar cells
The Samsung NC215S includes solar cells in its cover, which help keep the computer battery charged when exposed to UV light. For every 2 hours of charging, the solar power netbook computer will get an extra hour of power. Optimally, the battery will last for 14 hours!
Samsung’s solar computer will be available starting the week of July 3, for the low price of only $399. The cordless netbook computer is fairly minimalist, but for students, people that live in remote areas, or outdoor enthusiasts who wish to stay connected, the solar powered computer is a great option to consider!
And, if you already own a great computer and don’t want to invest in a solar power netbook, you can still keep your devices charged with energy from the sun. Consider a solar backpack, or other portable solar power options.
