So many hopes and dreams are resting on President Obama‘s shoulders. One thing that many people are hoping – even praying for – is a new direction for alternative energy. These days, its about energy independence, global warming and a general desire to build community around a common goal. Thank goodness the pundits agree that solar projects will turn the economy around.
On Monday this week, Next10, a non-profit research group in Palo Alto, issued a report that stated the green sector is a key growth component for California’s economy. There, so-called “green collar” jobs are growing faster than state employment. In fact, clean-tech investment reached a record high in 2008, even though the stock market plummeted. The state also leads the nation in patent registrations for green technology, like solar projects.
“California, like the rest of the nation and world, is caught in a financial perfect storm at the same time it has committed to dramatic reductions in global warming emissions.”
Building a green economy is the key aim of “Green for All,” established by Van Jones. For more, watch the following video:
These are not just pipe dreams. They are real. In California alone, green jobs grew by more than the growth experienced by the biotech sector in 2007. And they are not just laborer jobs. “Green jobs” include scientists, engineers, technicians and solar panel installers. The growth with respect to green jobs between 2005-07 was 10%. Who would now doubt that solar projects can turn the economy around?
People that live in California can count on more green jobs as a result of the toughest energy efficiency standards in the United States. Why is this important? Because the state’s energy productivity is 68% higher than that of the rest of the country. Can you even imagine what would happen if the rest of the U.S. was as productive as California?
Even in the tougher economic climate of 2008, venture capital investment in clean technology in California was more than double the investments of 2007. And many more people expect more investment in solar projects and other renewable energy projects.
That is truly some good, green news.

Hi, it would be an incredible development if all the states of the United States take part as California does. The green energy investments are increasing tremendously these days and green jobs are heightening across the world. Hope it will continue and many countries will adopt the such transformation. I request the author to visit http://investmentsinenergy.com , since this site has tremendous info regarding the renewable energy sector and the investment opportunities taking place in the solar energy sector.

what should i do if the people don’t want to use the solar power and want to use the normal electricity.
